Get Your Writing Published

Anything that you've already done. If you haven't done it already, don't worry about it. I don't want to put you out of your way. Something short in length, for a local print magazine.

This is simply a nice tie in to be able to mention Spill.com, and experiment on an available section. So definitely for an amateur. Actually only for an amateur :-D

If not done in the first issue, will place in another. Working closely with the editor at this point, and some things are being chopped up like tender beef, in warm beef stew. Yum.

Looking for (1) Will update post. Reply for any information.

So what kind of publication is this exactly?
Do we get payed?
How long is short?
Do we get mentioned?
Any way to speak to the editor?
Many questions, take your time answering I'll probably be signing off soon so I'll read it tommarow...wait you should also tell us when it's due by.
Also, pay or no pay I'm interested...

Local variety magazine, first edition due out on July 1st

No :( but the other writers do :D --> If you're called on for more than 3 listings then without a doubt, you would become a regular. Keep in mind this means dealing with stricter guidelines. Notice how I am up at 2 a.m. right now. But from my understanding we're going to be dealing with a rotation. So try to stand out?

Of course, it would be insane to use someone else's work without crediting them

Sure, but I would think our CEO would be more open to any questions you have

Ask away. Unfortunately I can't go to bed.

July 1st, lol. I could give you a novel by then. And again I ask, what is short? Are we talking a small collum or a couple of pages?

It seems you have enticed me to stay up, keep in mind it's 4 a.m where I live.

Also, what type of writting are you taking about journalisum or fiction.

Reply to This

Any. If you have an unpublished article we can probably liken it to one of the advertisers, or if you have a fiction piece it can generate reader interest.

Length would be more like half a page. If I hear a full page is acceptable it would surprise the hell out of me. In fact I would be dancing because that is less space for us to fill lol

Ok I'll dig out some old work and start cutting away. I'm in the middle of exams right now so expect my submission in a week or two. If you redo this as more of a contest, like Hardcoresoma's contest, you'll get more people interested and competition brings out the best in people. It wouldn't hurt to send a bulitin to all the members aswell.

While I'm here, what about movie reviews? If they're up to date would they do?

No contest, don't want to steal hardcores thunder. She rules all :D

And with my pre-hardcoresouma's writing contest 2 suck up out of the way, thanks for the tips.

Good luck on your exams, can't wait to hear from you.

So, wait, what magazine is it? Do we get a name or anything, or does ambiguity just add to the charm? It would really help by way of figuring out what to write for it.

I don't want you to go out of your way and write something new, that would be unfair since I am not sure it would make the final deadline. That is why I am looking for something already done.

Name of the magazine is Dig Beyond the Facts. Ambiguity and charm? As I've gotten older I can't connect the two with good faith lol

Reply to This

Okie, thanks. I meant more 'looking through files figuring out what best fits and tweaking it accordingly.'

Ambiguity, charm and good faith SO go together. An example: who doesn't like getting to know someone romantically on the net just to find out they're fugly and old?

The archaic\bad looks wouldn't bother me as much if I felt safe enough to close my eyes at night with them. But every person has their own low standards heh :-D

Looking forward to your work. I'll talk to the guy upstairs and see if it is okay to p.m. you guys the site, and possibly get some early work up of yours (already featuring a photographer). The site is live but only for advertisers to view the media kit.
