I personnaly think this movie was the sh*t!i remember the first time i saw this sh*t in theaters!man this sh*t was off the chain!on of our black friends was with us n he was like "see!balck peaple is the sh*t in this movie!"n the way Cyrus says "he's too mad skillz" a think it's f*ckin crazy!

This was an excellent movie, in the top five gangster films I think, not as good as scarface or the godfarther, but a very good film, now this was like drugs everywhere, Scarface was mean't to be drugs? you only saw like dope only once in the film. I want to see more people getting high and fucking shooting the shit out of people :P

that movie was kick ass i liked it tho it was really good also its like the 5th best mob movie like the godfather, Scarface, the good fellas and resevor dogs now the 5th mob movie american gangster

I just wasn't feeling this as much as you guys. I really looked forward to it after all the hype, but it just didn't measure up IMO. I thought the acting was good and like the direction, but the nice tidy ending and the way Lucas was almost made into a good guy left me a bit perturbed. It seemed to drag on a bit to me also...

This is one of the best movies I've seen in this present year. So powerful, so breathtaking and full of action and drama. Based on true, The story about the rise and fall of Harlem's drug kingpin Frank Lucas, its so interesting.
Of course we can't compare this movie with some other gangster masterpieces like Goodfellas, The Godfather and Scarface but easily can be situated below this three as one of the best. The direction from Ridley Scott is perfect, its so wonderful how he tells a story and keep it interesting for almost three hours. The adaptation of the late 60's and early 70's New York is amazing and the music great.
The cast is simply excellent, flawless performances from everyone. Denzel's role is awesome, although he is the bad guy, you finish liking him. I was sure he was going to be nominated for an Oscar as best actor in a leading role but anyway. Russell Crowe is also flawless as officer Richie Roberts. Secondary roles from Josh Brolin, Cuba Gooding Jr and others gives a perfect support to Crowe and Washington. Definitely as I said before this is one of the best movies of the year, a must see for everyone.

only thing

bet the channel did a special documentary about him and it kinda ruin it for me
