Well the reason Golden Compass won for visual effects because it came out in December and Transformers came out in July... so. Anyway, I really do think that GC did deserve just because the effects in that would have been SOO much harder than the visual effects in Transformers. Every single extra had to have a daemon... so, I think that's harder than a cool ass robot blowin up sh**t. B
But nonetheless Transformers had amazing visual effects... I'm still glad Golden Compass won anyway.

Dude i got really pissed that Golden Compass beated the TRANSFORMERS. I just wanted the statue to transform into a little killer robot and take down the guy o got it for GC.

Transformers got robbed. They did pick up the VES award for best visual effects so that really shows how clueless the academy was. Not a great flick but damn it looked good!

How Golden Compass beat Transformers? Best visual effects I've seen in 5 years. How did Tilda beat that girl from Atonement?
I remember when Cuba Gooding Jr won that award from Jerry Maguire, one of the best Oscar moments ever

I agree, It was total BS that Transformers didn't win. ILM has a track record of winning many Oscars and tonight I was utterly disappointed.
