Oh, I wasn't arguing with you. It was my observation of the clip and some limited experience. Downey Jr.'s character was ignorant and most viewers, hopefully, will see that ignorance. I just thought censoring something so obviously silly would be a disservice.
Anyway, sorry for any unintentional attack. Bye.

Of Mice and Men was also made into a film. A good one, featuring John Malkovich as Lenny.
Anyways, nobody cares about what the message behind that scene is. They just heard the word retard being said repeatedly and went into a political correctness hysteria.
I don't even know what you are arguing with me for. I myself had a fair amount of contact with special people myself and I completely agree. I realise Sean Penns character was not severely mentally handicapped, but by Downey Juniors standards, who discriminates between ordinary 'retards' and those with special abilities, he was 'fully retarded'.
Lenny of Of Mice and Men is a written character, Sean Penn's performance may have been stellar but....in reality those that are 'fully retarded' could not be in those situation. I done volunteer work in places that the severely (fully?) mentally handicapped needed to be fully institutionalized....nothing like the romanticized versions in the movies or one dimensional politically-correct sanitized view. In their affirmities and struggle, I still had respect and see the dignity within, they are the most sincere and unpretentious individuals I have ever had the privilege to know.
As for the movie clip, it was not making fun of the mentally handicapped but a satirical attack on the people that write, portray and use the unfortunate. Really the characters in the movie are not braniacs, they were not the spokesmans for the brightest or Mensa. The audience will not be influence to there point of view, in fact the opposite.
Recently, on LDT, Korey expressed feelings about leaving Spill. He said that he had felt this way before and this feeling is now more serious than before.
My hope is that this group will show Korey how much we appreciate him and what he does for us.
