Comment by Chris Salazar on October 5, 2012 at 8:46pm I honestly think that this movie is a High Rental. I liked Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale and I liked the Car chase but the Jessica Beil was boring and Bryan Cranston and Bill Nighy were wasted on screen. The middle also dragged.

Comment by CoHostlovesmysugarlumps on August 10, 2012 at 6:16pm Great review, as always. I definitely agree with cohost after seeing it last night. I was looking forward to this movie and damn was I let down.
Positives- Kate Beckinsale, Horrible bad punch lines (I give good wife?!), special effects, Bryan Cranston, Three tithes, cameo from the fat red head lady from the first movie (I got so so excited when I saw that).
Negatives- Story seemed much less touching, couldn't give two shits about the revolution, bad acting, bad puns, too much special effects, no Arnold acting.
It just seemed like a spruced up Scifi channel movie.
For a fun way to be entertained, look at it in a sense that it is the same universe as the arnold one (the fat red head lady is arnold walking around to get to the ship to go to mars, I know it doesn't really work but it is way more entertaining then the movie itself)

Comment by Bryan "Wolfman 3:16" Wolfe on August 7, 2012 at 8:01pm I have to agree with Co-Host on this one, guys!!! The story seems so dead, and the characters so flavorless, that it’s almost impossible to give half a crap about Quaid (Colin Farrell) as he tangles with his hot bitchy wife Lori (Kate Beckinsale) and reconnects with his dream girl from the past, a resistance fighter named Melina (Jessica Biel).
Beckinsale kicks a fair amount of ass in the film and she's a cold hearted bitch in this, even though her colleagues on the police force shoot like stormtroopers. But Farrell’s flat performance makes it hard to care whether the endless sprays of automatic gunfire ever hit home. I’ll take Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hammy original take on the Quaid character any day, but probably no actor could utter this script’s clunky one-liners and come away unscathed. Overall, the special effects are great, the story was very flat and very forgettable so I'll stick with my original Schwarzenegger "Total Recall" on Blu-Ray. So I'm giving this a RENTAL!!! And that's the bottom line cause the Wolfman said so!!!
