The film was good till we found out that Charlize Theron is also a super hero, Will Smith played his part well though.

I saw the movie on Saturday and I thought it was awesome! There was, however, a point in the movie where I just kept looking at the screen thinking to myself, "I hate this movie now, man! They just messed it up!" But, what happened right after totally surprised me and made me extrememly happy with the film. It went from Full Price to Rental and then back up to Full Price!

Saw this over the weekend.
It just screams, "The test screening didn't go well, we are going to have to reshoot a couple of scenes.". This was one of those "they didn't want it good, they wanted it thursday" situations. I guarantee that there will be a significant alternate version of this film released in about a year.
The twist in the movie did not bother me, but the disconnected logic and tangents did. The 'bad guy' in this movie wasn't poorly developed, he just wasn't developed. I think that Hancock was originally slated to be a tragic character, but they realized that this was Will Smith we are talking about and besides after 'Legend' he probably has a no dying clause in his contract now. Matinee is the most you should pay for this movie.
Justin Batemen was fantastic. All of the acting was great. The story needed a rewrite. I would love to see the original screen play.

Oops..

previously I credited Tony Smith and Will Humble as being the writer director team behind "Hancock" 2008...

Credit, however, goes to Peter Berg, Vince Ngo, and Vince Gilligan.

Neither team rung a bell to me until I did a litle googling to find out who they where.

::REVIEW::

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are heroes… there are superheroes… and then there’s Hancock (Will Smith). With great power comes great responsibility – everyone knows that – everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock’s well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough – as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn’t the kind of man who cares what other people think – until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock’s greatest challenge yet – and a task that may prove impossible as Ray’s wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he’s a lost cause. --© Sony Pictures

CGI: This movie features great special effects from the beginning to end all battles look fantastic and even Superman quakes in fear of the high quality graphics.

Music: The worst aspect of the movie no question. Even when the movie begins we're greeted with a chase sequences backed by a track that sounds like it came straight from the Dukes of Hazard. At one point they even play the Sanford&Son theme. I'm sorry but this is just unacceptable. Whoever did the music for this movie should be hung.

Writing: What can I say when it comes to the writng for this movie I must say, not too bad. It is a very funny movie with rarely seen dialouge. This movie was well thought up and comes with a special surprising twist in the middle. The only problem I have with this movie is the mystery to it where we know so little about Hancock. However this isn't a Cloverfield mysterious it's more like a the writers were really lazy and did'nt think up an explanation of his powers. A little more of a backstory would have been nice but unfortunately there isn't.

Acting: Do I even need to tell you how good the acting was? Will Smith nailed perfectly the role of a drunk, hack, loser guy. Wich isn't that hard for Will Smith ;). Though at times he stretches it by staring at people for a long time.Either way he's come a far way from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.Charlize Thompson also does a great job of playing the suspicious wife. Same can be said for Jason Bateman(not playing the wife of course). He is a great actor who has shown his talent and ability. The only one who didn't do a good job was the villian himself, Eddie Marson

im a big will smith fan so i was gona go watch it anyway .. but after all the great things ya'l said bout it .. i couldnt wait .. and .. IM DISSAPOINTED .. i think its one of will smiths worst movies ever (and iv seen all of em) .. the 1st half was pretty funny .. but the 2nd half just falls flat .. with an extremely stupid story, bad action scenes and no character development .. and the most ridiculous thing iv ever seen in a superhero movie .. that .. if 2 superheroes r too close 2 each other .. they lose their powers .. is that the best they could come up w/ ?? the only good thing bout the movie is its performances but i gota say .. im gona think twice before going to a will smith movie again ..
P.S. all the funny scenes from the 1st half were in the previews anyway .. so .. yea !

This is a great movie. It is very rare that I actually go outside to a theater to pay and watch a movie. I'm glad I did though it really was a great movie. You can read my full review at my blog page.
