She was there to promote the arts and to use the Oscars as a way to continue supporting having it in schools. Too many programs are being cut these days, sports included.

That's not even mentioning that Presidents perform similar functions at Sports events, when they throw the first pitch at a game, or congratulating the Superbowl winners each year. I figured that conservatives would lose their shit over something as trivial as the first lady presenting an award VIA WEBCAM. 

And @Dr. Detfink, I'm not a huge Obama supporter, but overall the Obamas have not taken nearly as many vacations as Clinton, W. Bush, Reagan, and many other presidents. The conservatives just love to blow that up and try to make a non-issue into a fiasco.

Anything Obama (or Mrs. Obama) does is evil in the eyes of conservatives ... even if its the same thing a well respected conservative did in the past.The goal of the right wing media is to scare their audience by vilifying Obama as much as possible.

SAME reasons people bitched about George W. Bush sitting in the booth during the MLB All-Star game and taking vacations, yet the Obamas take more vacations...separately might I add. Not a Republican but it wasn't THAT long ago that roles were reversed. Best to understand the media is going to look for ANYTHING trivial to start a fire to get hits on their blog or pathetic publication.
