Okay, yes it borrows from the original movie, but it's an origin reboot. It's inevitable. And the plot threads being dropped are because of this magical thing called sequels.

If I was Sam Raimi I would be so disappointed at how many references The Amazing Spider-Man borrows from the original movie and how it drops plot threads and completley forgets about characters that we met in the begining of the movie but I would praise it's directing and visuals.
