Went to Jack Reacher. Not the best movie in the world. Rosamund Pike was terrible. Tom Cruise was OK but, the movie was dull.

Octo-Woosp Yeah I'd like to check out his documentaries but, they just don't come to Japan for some reason. So I can't see them. If I see it you will know one way or the other.

check out Werners documentaries (all his stuff for that matter) he always talks like that, crazy dude. His one about penguins is crazy.

Octo-Woosp  Werner Herzog was fun with that accent. But did he add any elements to the film? I don't think so. And yes I do think the staff are trying too make this into a franchise. The only thing that is different with this and The MI series is IMO Jack Reacher wants the audience to say Can he solve this mystery and is more of a Story driven plot. On the other hand The MI series is like Can he Survive the stakes of the Mission that seems Impossible to accomplish. And each movie is more of an Action driven plot. I like The MI` series more But I like Story driven plots when it's done right. In this case it just wasn't.

jack buton Yeah Maybe The golden age of Wesley Snipes would've been cool.(Like when he was doing Blade or something like that). And you are right about the characters I didn't care about almost any one except maybe the girl that hits Tom at the bar. but, the way she is handled is wrong. So I don't know maybe this would've been better if in the hands of a different director.

I thought it to be horrible cliche and a vain attempt to create a franchise. The only thing I liked was Werner Herzogs speeches. Very funny man. It does not help I find tom to be very dull and not convincing as any kind of hardman. Too big for a film like this? Not at all, just poorly executed. How does it differ from the MI films?

I liked Tom. He was too big for a film like this. Nobody else in the film {except for Robert Duvall} made me care about their characters. Not the villain, any of his henchmen, or even the would be love interest. That's why i could see Seagal or Snipes doing this for a quick paycheck.

Octo-Woosp Thanks for the reply. If it were Seagal IMO the role of Jack Reacher would have had no charisma. Where as Tom Cruise or to a extent Bruce Willis do have acting skills so they would have been better choices.

Aaron Thanks for the reply. The Dear Hunter and the early works of George A. Romero are set at Pittsburgh.

the film misfires on so many levels, the dialogue tries but fails to be witty, it was just an ego stroke for TC trying to be the entire a-team at once, very uneven. if it were seagal in the movie it would have rocked!

Jack burton Thanks for the reply. I feel the same way at a point. I differ with Leon and Co-host 3000. This does feel like a straight to DVD movie but, I disagree that Seagal or Snipes can carry the movie. Tom Cruise was OK but, if I were the director I would have gone with The Rock.
