The deluxe edition is arguably the absolute best for the hardcore fans of the comic. But the regular extended edition is superior to the regular version just from a film standpoint.

Depends on which one you mean. There's the one with a few extra scenes which I own and have ever only watched once and then there's the deluxe version that incorporates the cartoon of the pirate comic into the movie. That one I haven't seen.
