Since David Cronenberg is trying to be all artsy now, why can't he make a biopic about Damien Hirst?

Meh, he just doesn't seem very Cronenberg-ian

Cause Ed Gein is a t-shirt. Hirst is a Duchamp wannabe. At least Kokoschka could paint and it was more than just being weird.

The genius of Hirst clearly isn't in his "art," it's in the fact that scammed people into paying for it.

Detfink, if you want to take it beyond the logical extreme, why not label Ed Gein as an artist (he certainly was at least leather craftsman if you've seen his work) ?

For once, I'm in agreement with Detfink. ;)

I would hope Cronenberg wouldn't waste his time on a boring guy that placed a dead shark in a tank of formaldehyde, called it art, and sold it for millions. Now someone who can actually paint, Kokoschka who walked around town with a mannequin he made of the woman who spurned him...THAT's a worthy movie to be inspired about obsession and desire as an artform.
