I still think Ewan McGregor was pretty good as Obi-Wan. One of maybe four good performances in the prequels.

I think everyone in the cast could have done a great job, if Lucus was a great actor's director. I agree, but I would just go further in that everyone did a good job with the material given.

Of course, in comparison to the bland couple (Anakin & Padmé),
everyone seems like a graduate from a class taught by Daniel Day Lewis at the Marlon Brando school of acting.

When he was the Emperor proper, I loved McDiarmid.
But I was going more for
McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, that kid who played lil' Boba, and Anthony Daniels does his usual business.
