Comment by FalseFace on October 27, 2012 at 10:40pm I'm grown enough to know what I like and don't like. The Spill Crew just reviewed the new Silent Hill and said similar things: the visuals were great but nothing happened, particularly in the middle. To elaborate on what I said, I thought that some of tension and the breathing sounds were good. However, the way that Michael actually stalked them just seemed a little unrealistic. He wasn't subtle AT ALL. He would've gotten the cops called on him a LONG time ago.
Combined with his unrealistic abilities that weren't explained and also how the doctor TALKED about how evil Michael was instead of the movie really SHOWING us -- even as a child (besides that murder; we don't know what triggered it) -- I just kept being taken out of the movie, man. I saw it as a product of its time, instead of a great horror film. Carpenter did The Thing, which I find MUCH better. I also think Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street are better films. I just couldn't get jiggy with this one.
