I am not Nigel Dungen. But I say this movie will be better because, 1) though the FX and fight scenes were on par for the last two movies...the Raimi movies were missing the greatest special effect of all: The actual character of Parker/Spider Man, and this movie looks like it may have it. Tobey McGuire is a fine actor, but he never got down the character of PP as written in the comics and animated shows. Also the dialogue in all of those movies seemed a bit stilted. 2) One of the bones of contention with this movie is "why are they doing the origin over again"? From seeing the trailers, I don't think they are doing the origin at all. The only problem I see with this movie? No J. Jonah Jameson. And no, I am not saying this will be a bigger hit than the other movies. It might even do badly at the box office. I don't know. I just think the movie will be a great Spidey movie. Looking back, I think the other spidey movies are 2/5 stars (okay 3 because there are several action scenes that satisfy my comic book fanboy cravings. but the dialogue and characters are mostly awful). I think this movie will be a 4 star movie. Maybe even 5 star.
