Festival has gotten big enough that it's pretty near impossible to get into anything with any buzz unless you have a badge...which is ex-pen-sive and way out of my budget this year. Maybe next. If the movie is a hit at the festival, it will most likely get picked up for distribution and then hopefully we'll get a shot at it. I think Carlyle is going to the festival though so he very well may see it and do a brief review on his webcams.
As far as "Medicine for Melancholy" goes, it does sound interesting. I wonder if the title relates in any way to the Ray Bradbury short story collection? Unfortunately, ain't nobody ponying up the money for a Badge for poor Cyrus. Due to a strange way of marketing ourselves, most people in Austin still don't even know who we are, and that includes the powers that be at SXSW...so no comps I've been made aware of. Never know though. Sometimes they try to get the local press in and it ends up being real last minute. I'll be prepared through the whole week or so to be guerrilla and ready for anything.
I would think the biggest problem with hippy porn would be that the guys always would be too interested in finishing "just one more level" to have sex.
