With regards to Star Wars, only since the whole saga has been completed can I truly appreciate the power of the force and it's origins. So although the more recent movies may not have pleased some purists, I for one appreciated the completeness of the whole as opposed to nick-picking particular episodes.

The same mindset is not necessary for say, The Bourne Trilogy, for example.
