I wouldn't say actors don't read scripts, they may not just have good tastes or they're confident they can work with even the shittiest script. Although in Movie 43's case... I'm not sure. Seth MacFarlane looked like he was having fun being in the stupid film. So I give him that. Others just looked like it was a job.
Maybe the film was going to be shelved but certain actors being "big" right now changed that. Highly doubtful, but it's what I hope happened.
