Hey carlyle, I just created a pretty extensive wikipedia entry for spill and I think this time it won't be deleted, especially with that award the site just recieved. Heres the link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spill.com
I saw The Bad Lieutenant and I enjoyed it but it is not worth paying full price for. It is a type of film that goes straight to DVD. The focus on the reptiles was silly but I laughed. Also, the camera view by the living alligator or crocodile on the side of the road was a bit to much. I was trying to find meaning behind it (was a monster recording his evil deeds?). Those are minor complaints.
Nick Cage acting was the same as usual. His behavior on screen weird in a good way.

When did movie companies think it was a good idea to release multiple 2 minute long trailers? Shouldn't there be like the 2-3 minute theatrical trailer then like 2 30 second tv spots?
Hey Carlyle i got a question for you, have you ever gotten upset at a movie trailer for giving too much information out about a movie? Personally i cant stand it, i see a trailer and i could see how its going to end. Avatar we all know how its going to end. Some disturbing blue porn. What do you think? Are movie trailers ruining some movie experiences?
Cogratulations on winning the podcast award for best Movies/Film podcast! I love what you do on Spill and I'm glad to see it recognized :)
Please keep it up!
Recently you and Kory shit on the movie "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'". This movie flopped at the box office and was universally panned when it came out in 2005.
I saw the movie at an advanced screening back then. I thought it was very good. After the movie, there was a discussion with studio reps and the whole audience seemed to love it.
"Get Rich" was a semi-bio about a popular rapper, with A-list director and actors involved, with a decent budget. Just like '8 Mile'. Unlike '8-Mile' it had thugs, gangsters and movie violence, which the hip hop crowd and young movie going audience seems to dig. Both movies delivered the image that both artists created on their multi-platinum selling albums.
My question: Why did '8 Mile' succeed, and 50 Cent's movie failed? And why did you guys hate it so much as to call it "bullshit"?
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you! My family and i finally saw "UP" and i have to say your review was dead on! We actually watched it twice (which is a rare thing for my wife to do!). I'm looking forward to "Avatar" next weekend with my daughter. I compare it to "Dances with Wolves"....in space. I'm sure i'll enjoy it, i've been excited about it since i first saw the trailer. And of course, 3 days before Christmas, "District 9" hits the DVD shelves...a definate present for me under the tree...best movie all year for me so far!
Hope Santa brings you lots of cool stuff this Christmas and for your lovely wife and wonderful pups!
Will you post some more pics of the pups soon?
I was doing some research for a blog I wrote about holiday films and still find it hard to believe I use to pay 50 cents for a matinee back in 1964...and you could bring your own popcorn too! I used to go to the Colonial one of those old stage/movie housed which is now closed and for sale. Do you think these builidngs are worth saving and restoring? I do, I love the old movie houses, ours didn't have a big organ but it's still a pretty cool place.
Hey Carlyle, when you get back from Butt-Numb-Athon, check out my first podcast (with spillios Cthulu Midget Baby and Eyeball Kid) about Nicolas Cage! http://www.youtube.com/jackandzackfilms
