So me and my brother popped the game in and he immediately began kicking ass because he has been playing since 1. This is my first Gears game experience and I was great. There is nothing more satisfying than a chainsaw execution.
The game is the must own of the year in my opinion. It is also the most intense online game I've ever played (and the best) but I think once everyone newcomer who plays a few hours of the campaign they'll feel right at home with the multiplayer.
In short, it is not a douchebag machismo "football ball rules!" type game anymore, there is dread and badassery. It is emotional and insightful if you have never played like myself. Yes, you should get it, thanks!
