Well, when you look back at a time line history of horror movies, the single killer has dominated the field for most of it. The ghost movie really only has come to serious prominence lately and it's doing what horror does...exploring every last possible variation on the theme. Soon, the pendulum will swing back. For me personally, the single human killer bores the crap out of me. I want the monster movie to be the dominant paradigm.
They were both using the exact same dramatic technique of "found footage", but you're right. Everybody has their own opinion and that's just as it should be. If you like Blair Witch. you should see the BBC film that inspired it/they ripped off (depending who you ask) called The Last Broadcast.
I can't say as I have heard of Welcome to the Jungle (other than the Guns N Roses song) but I have seen Blair Witch and it does indeed suck. The hand-cam film has been attempted a number of times but has never really succeeded the way it did with Cloverfield.

This was a little bit better then the 1st TV movie, but it wasne't that great. Nothing new and exciting happened. Mr.Krabs doesn't reveal the Krabby Patty Formula and Spongebob and Sandy were pretending to be married in a play. The whole movie is ...
Horror spoofs, like this week’s Transylmania, come in all shapes and sizes. For instance, we have horror films that pay homage to other films, like Shaun of the Dead, but we also have satirical “sign of the times” flicks like An American Werewol...
