'Scrubs' star Zach Braff is in talks with Disney to join Sam Raimi's prequel/reimagining 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'. If cast, Braff will play the role of Frank, the "loyal but under-appreciated assistant" to James Franco's character, Oz. While the two roles were originally aimed to be played by Robert Downey Jr. and John C. Reilly (as Oz and Frank respectively), both actors turned down the roles and Disney has had to recast.
The film, which focuses on the events prior to 'The Wizard of Oz', centers around circus magician/con artist Oz as he is swept away in a hot air balloon and finds himself in the mystical land of... Oz (which seems like it would be a bit of a coincidence, right?). Soon, he is accidentally swept up in an epic adventure to battle evil witches and bring peace to the troubled lands.
Along with James Franco, Braff would act alongside Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz as the evil witches Theodora and Evanora, and Michelle Williams as Glinda the good witch. Shooting is planned to begin this July in Michigan, with a release date of March 8th, 2013.

How about we replace "it's so bad it's good" wiith "it's so absurd it becomes entertaining!"

I'm not disagreeing with you (I think) I genuinely like Sam Raimi the man falls into my top 10 favourite film directors, I love the serious yet creepy tone of The Gift, very gripping stuff! In fact I think with the right script he could win a best director Oscar (R)!
That said, back in the day, my friends at school invited me around to watch this film called The Evil Dead, directed by Sam Raimi, the guy who was making the new Spider-Man film! As we watched it they were all giggling like crazy and I asked why, the film was horrible! Then one of them told me "Yes, it's so bad, it's good!" Since then I have spoken to a lot of movie affitionados who tell me the whol it's "so bad it's good" thing, so though you may disagree, I recommend bringing it up in conversation with other guys and seeing whether they agree about the "so bad it's good" style! Some time later I watched Spider-Man and saw the man had a lot of range and one of the reasons I like him better than Tim Burton or Michael Bay is because he knows when to use his style, but also when to drop or change it and use a different style.
I shouldn't have said he has a "so bad it's good style," I should have said sometimes he uses that style, other times , he's different, but he does have that style from time to time!

@Roboto
Like the Coen Bros. (whom Sam Raimi influenced and vice versa), Sam Raimi has a wacky sense of humor, which I wouldnt call it a "so bad it is good" style. Even so, Sam Raimi has proved himself to be capable of not using that particular style. I suggest you see A Simple Plan, if you havent already. It has a brilliant performance by Billy Bob Thornton.
