You almost can't help but feel for everyone who put effort into one of this summer's biggest shart stains on the underwear of comedy, Year One. After all, its worldwide gross was $7 million short of matching budget, Rotten Tomatoes pronounced it the 5th lowest rated film of the season and everyone with the exception of Michael Cera, had to endure seeing Michael Cera resemble a female days on end. So it's easy to understand why they'd be desperate enough to use a quote like this for the
dvd cover once it hits shelves:

At first I thought this Rene Rodriguez was just another quote whore, sneaking slowly up the popularity chart and ready to become the next Pete Hammond. Surprisingly enough he's not anything like that - in fact, he didn't even like Year One (unless two stars is the new three). In the magical world of not-taking-things-out-of-context, Rene really said...
"To be fair, there is undeniable humor in finding out what happens when a captive who has been shackled to a prison wall upside down needs to urinate. I double dare anyone not to laugh."
Keep in mind though that same exact review also used the words...
"But the overall laziness permeating Year One eventually sinks the picture. A movie that doesn't respect its audience enough to muster a sliver of a story is practically impossible to warm up to, no matter how likable its actors."
No, in a world where Not Easily Broken lists Tyler Perry's name underneath "
It's A Powerful Movie", this isn't the best incident of blurbage I've ever witnessed. I still can't help but wonder why make room for words people will just roll eyes over, instead of using it on something more promising like "From the Director of Caddyshack" or at least squeezing in Christopher Mintz-Plasse. For the record I'm fully aware that I'm overreacting but still...tell me I'm not the only one bothered by this.
