@Jason I'm sorry,but I disagree. I haven't played the other Xmen action RPGs and the main reason I got this was because it had an original story to it. I don't regularly read the Xmen comics, (Don't live near a comic book shop and well....there's a metric buttload of continuity,so I REALLY don't trudge through that) and what I DO know comes from either the cartoons,or the occassional comic.While I'll admit it's not perfect and I kind of feel stupid for paying 60$ for it,but there ARE good points to this game. There(despite what some say) actually IS a good character in this. Adrian. This guy wants to follow in his fathers footsteps,as a Purist. But when the incident at the Rally happens,he gets powers and is now torn between his father's teachings and what path he'll take.(The guy even hears his father's voice in his head!) There is potential for a good story here.I'll admit it indefinitely has flaws: They could have elaborated the characters(the one you're playing as) backstory a little more. That and the fact that the character models vary from good to "Dear Lord,that is creepy". You have to remember to state the good parts of the game. Like I said before,I haven't played the other X-men Action RPGs. For all I know,this game is crap in comparison to others. That, and I don't know alot of the characters,their backstories,or what's going on currently. But maybe I'm the weird one here.I do know some of the general story, (I liked and still do like to watch the cartoons) so a game I could get into that didn't require me to know a bunch of the mythology interested me. I even think there's a character in here (Adrian) that I'd like to see appear in later X-men media (games,cartoons,comics,etc.).Granted,me liking a game that critics don't like nothing new. It's happened 4 times already,FF7:Crisis Core,Sonic Chronicles,Brutal Legend,and well,this. If you're the kinda guy that gets bored playing button mashers real quick,then I would'nt reccommend playing this. It, (much like Brutal Legend) is a gulity pleasure to me. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. In other words,wait for the price to go down,then buy it. And Jason,If Angry Joe sounds more credible than you ina review,you got problems.(=) jk)

All I want is for Silicon Knights to make Eternal Darkness 2 before going out of business. Putting out crappy games like this is not helping that idea. :(

Awww, I was hoping we would finally get a good X-men game :(

 

I hate blaming everything on Activision, but it can't be a coincidence that all of their recent Marvel properties are either cheap or lackluster. Isn't there anyone who can bend the license out of their hands and put some real effort into a Marvel game for once?

i'd say this game was a step in the right direction for gameplay for future X-Men games. Control a mutant and kick ass. More powers would've been better. And have real talk chooses like in other RPG. Skipping scenes would've been better as well. Well at least it had a Sentinel in it.

I actually found this very entertaining. It is missing a bit of Corey-ness for sure, but these guys manage to hold their own and have a lot of funny comments like the stinky cloud thing! Good job I say.

I knew this game was gonna suck. Everything I saw on it looked an old PS2 game like you guys said. I hope Spider-Man Edge of Time turned out awesome. I haven't seen any reviews of it yet
