Wolfenstein Review

This review's gotta be brief, got to go to bed soon.... tired as shit.

Okay, so Wolfenstein is ID's return to the franchise after the critically praised "Return to Castle Wolfenstein". I've played RCW, and it's amazing fun, but does this one match up? Yes and no. The single player is just as good, but the multiplayer fails as a whole.

In single player you control B.J. Blascowikz (if that's how you spell it), the super jew. Well, his name sounds super jewish. You go around doing favors for "The Golden Dawn", blowin' up secret Nazi labs and other Nazi stuff... but a lot of labs. The Nazis are delving into the occult, trying to train monsters to fight for the Third Reich. I know. It's rediculous.

But surprisingly, the gameplay is pretty damn fun. I really wasn't expecting that when I got it. Shoot Nazis in the face with the Kar98 (by far the best weapon when fully upgraded) never gets old, in my opinion. This game plays much like COD 3, you know except with Particle Cannons and Lightning Shooters. The gameplay is fun but there are some glitches here and there like Nazis not getting hit when you're up close to them. There's also the idiotic enemies/team mates that shoot at walls trying to get the person on the other side. This game is not that intuitive, so they fail and look like idiots. The veil mode with some G-E-N-E-R-I-C powers is an okay addition, but I didn't usually use it. It's just... ugly and gets in the way for me. To put it shortly: The gameplay is generic with a little twist and some gore.

During gameplay there are parts maybe once a level where the game gets REALLY frustrating even on normal and you die MULTIPLE times and may even end of putting down the control sometimes. This takes away from the expierience in all and is extremely annoying. I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU, INVISIBLE NAZI NINJAS.

Yes, they have invisible Nazi ninjas in this game. Isn't that absurd?! The game gets so rediculous at times that I can't help but laugh...

The graphics in the game are okay, good enough for me. Although they do take a significant drop in multiplayer, in single player blasting guys heads off with an upgraded KAR98 (YAY!) is a bloody and awesome sight. Some of the character models are a bit bland and edgy here and there though.

So all in all, the game's pretty fun but oddly generic for an ID game. So pick this game up if you want a decent shooter with some fun and ccccraayyyzyyy Nazi weapons. And brutal rocket launchers.
