Okay, maybe it's just me, but every time I write anything up on the site, within two hours, my email inbox is filled up with the following messages.
(Insert Spill name here) has left a comment to a blog post at Spill.com..
I guess, in my effort to contribute to the greatest social networking site in the whole world, I am inundated with this message constantly in my email inbox. Writing and rambling about my useless trivia about movie factoids or whatnot, I am overwhelmed with
FIRST! comments,
TDK rules! (which it does) or other such statements about movies, Youtube clips, and how horrible the Denzel Washington's
Deja Vu movie was!
I know the easiest way to get rid of all these updates from other spill members is to click the Stop following button on the comment section, but I see things two ways.
First, I love movies and other people who love to talk about their favs and UGO picks. It's nice to be able to have a conversation about the merits of movies, even lame 80s action flicks that hold strong nostalgic memories for me . This site is cool, because we all on this site, no matter race, creed, nationality, political views, or other differences,
ALL share the love of watching a
GREAT movie and we want to share
that same movie with all our friends. In fact, this past weekend, I did the insane task of renting and watching
8 dvds that are due tomorrow, 7 if which I am recommending for you all up in this site.
But, secondly, my email box gets full of stuff from others, who aren't even replying to a comment about my comment. These comments are sometimes not even directly related to the movie subject, but some other instance where two or more
Spillians are having an open argument about who's the tallest midget. What the heck, man?

Maybe, I'm just turning into that old man on the porch with his internet shotgun, telling the kids to "Get off my Cyber Lawn!"

Mostly, for about a month now, been turning off the
follow comments button, because last month I got over 1000 emails and now I'm debating whether I should just send all my spill email into the spam folder, because 99% of the time, it's just not relevant to something I blogged about. Another option is to open up a dummy email account that I'll never check, knowing, it'll be spill spam stuff, but I really don't want to take that option.

Now, I'm beginning to get a taste of what the
Spill Crew gets, but on a much smaller scale. Korey, Co-Host, Carlyle, Leon, and Cyrus must each get at least 10,000 emails every week.

Just another
movie midget in a sea of
movie dwarfs!

Classic Movie Munchkins
(Disclaimer: This is just a metaphor, if your a little person, understand that I'm referring to people who fill up my email inbox with USELESS random statements, don't go crying in the corner that I'm making fun of you, and GO get a life!)
btw, I'm gonna dismantle the follow comments section on this blog too. Ha ha heh heh!
