What Would Sam Raimi's Lizard Have Looked Like?

I remember hearing something, way back when, about how Sam Raimi had originally planned on having The Lizard be the villain in 2004's 'Spider-Man 2' along with Dr. Octopus. This of course explained why there was a reference to Dr. Connors in 'Spider-man,' and why Dylan Baker makes an appearance as that character in the sequel. Evidently someone was able to convince Raimi that maybe that approach was too narratively cumbersome...something they failed to tell him prior to 'Spider-Man 3.' If you're curious as to what Raimi's Lizard would have looked like, artist Constantine Sekeris has the answer. On his website, among many other astonishing works, is this concept art for Spidey's reptilian adversary. Whether you're looking at the sketch or the rendered drawing, Sekeris' Lizard is pretty terrifying, more so in my view than the one we got in 'The Amazing Spider-Man.' Take a look at the artwork below and let us know what you think. And be sure to check out all the other fantastic art on Sekeris' site.

The elongatuon of the neck kills the first design imo
The snout shape looks goofy(no disney-marvel pun intended) to the point I wanna laugh.
Also hector seeing as the lizard was the bad guy in amazing, I doubt that was true. Also it was very much his intention to have a vulture movie so I'd suspect that more.

Sony wanted Doctor Octopus, The Lizard and The Black Cat as the villains in Spider-Man 2 before Sam Raimi decided to just use Doctor Octopus because he was a visually interesting villain who was a physical match for Spider-Man and a sympathetic person with humanity.

The Lizard was going to be the bad guy in Spider-Man 4 but Sony didn't allow Sam Raimi to use him because they wanted a human bad guy.

I like the first picture a lot better. If only the trilogy wasn't rebooted too soon.
