I remember, one day, I was watching this channel that showed many kung fu and samurai flicks.  I found myself watching the climax of this movie where this one samurai was trying to leave a town with a infant.  the town was blockaded by a lone guard.  When the two confronted they had the noble agreement that if the man trying to escape should die the other should take the child and adopt them as their own.

There was something charming and cinematic about the movie.  Has anyone else seen it and know the name?
