Twisted Pictures buying a Chainsaw? Going back 2 Zombieland? The Rei-tman for Ghostbusting: Spidermarch: : Posted: Trailers/off topic
Live from the Dresden, a few blocks from Mike’s Apartment in the Los Feliz area of Los Angles, CA.
It is the one and only blog and pod tester, who is never better.
Weekenders.
Well back to blog land we go. So how are you? Really? Well I’m glad you used your writing hand for that Me? Ah, you know same old deal. Just doing the do. It is funny how I’ve been living in “W-E world” between this and the pod. But I love it, only being I was a tad worried that I wouldn’t have good stories for here as it was a slow week but thank god for the latter part of the week. Lol. So, lets us do the ritual for the W-E blog. Let’s put the feet up. Get comfy and….
CRAACCCCCKKKKKKKKK ONEEEEEEEEE OOOFFFFFFFFFFFF
Phew. Lol. I’m thinking about an intro for the podcast. As I said on the show, cracking one off works well here, I’m not sure about how it would go down in the pod. Plus there also my co-host to think of. When you have a co-host U need to think about what she would think about me cracking one off right there and then, ya know? Well this is just me thinking out loud. That does not get us on to the news any quicker so let us do that now….
"This is fucking twisted man"
Twisted Pictures are close to buying the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre from Platinum Dune who produced two of the Texas films…… wait what the fuck? Two of them? I remember the shitty 2003 remake, but what other film?????
OH!!!! There is a place in hell reserved for these remake mongers, I hope so anyway. And it’s a fucking origin story too. That’s a double fuck U from me then…. But you know what dear reader? I’m not gonna rant. I have a podcast for that now... LOL!
Anyway, well the deal appears to be done and Twisted Pictures have big plans for the Texas franchise it would seem. They want to make a 3D version of the film. It would be penned by Stephen Susco who wrote the “The Grudge” This of course now has some thinking of a possible “dream match” between Saw’s Jigsaw and Leatherface. Suffice to say I think this is the most retarded EVER!!!. What this is, is just a way for Twisted Pictures to build up on that strong horror stable they have. With Saw 7 going to be in the 3D for next year it doesn’t surprise that this is what Twisted want to do now. And of course with the success of My Bloody Valentine 3D and the added bonus of Halloween 3D being shelved in the meantime there is most certainly a gap in the market for such 3D bollocks. So the deal isn’t quite finalized but I’m sure it will be soon enough.
The film has only been out for a week but already talks of a Zombieland sequel are already being…. Well… talked about.
At time of writing ZL is closing in on the $50 million mark (currently $ 47.8 m) so it has certainly made its money back and has the big wigs thinking about how they would like a bit of that there zombie bread.
Well one of the films writers Paul Wernick is more than down for sequel. Even though I was only there a month back for my week away, Paul thought it would be cool to meet at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. So after the podcast was recorded I packed my bags, put on the customary handkerchief bandana and was away. As we rode the Valhalla, Paul said this to me,
“We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one. Woody [Harrelson] came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, ‘I’ve never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I’ve done until this one.’ “
Going by that it seems a sequel will along sooner rather than later. But could also mean a script is being written just now? Well as we entered the ice room the teeth chattering Paul said this,
“It has lived in our heads for four-and-a-half years. We developed it and wrote it as a spec TV pilot in the summer of 2005. We’ve got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near-weekly basis with ideas. We’ve got tons of new ideas swimming in our head.”
As good as the buzz on the film is a TV series eh? That would have been interesting. The whole zombie TV series is very rare, last one being Dead Set. But I digress as $47.8 million speaks volumes so I’ll shut up now Lol.
I did say about the script sooner rather than later, but first Paul and his writing partner Rhett Reese have other projects to attend to first. The Venom film and science fiction film “Earth vs. Moon” But the signs look good for a return trip to Z-land. => Paul was very impressed with the Pleasure Beach. Maybe the second film will be called, “ Beach Zombieland Pleasure” Or not….. Hey think U can do better??? … Aye, U probably could.
Well it took a while but Ivan Reitman is now on board for Ghostbusters 3. BUT he still hasn’t decided if he will direct it or not. I’m sure he will choose this role in the end. It’s bloody Ghostbusters man. And Ivan is also part of the Ghostbusters rights holder agreement, other members being the three main members of the actual Ghostbusters team and Columbia Pictures. It should be noted that none of these five parties have singed off on anything Ghostbusters 3 wise. This of course is part of a reason a director not in place yet. It is just common sense for Ivan to commit to the D role in the end, and I think he will. I’ll even put a bet down and say he’ll do it in the next week and that’s a quote. Some trivia here did U know that in the last ten years Ivan only directed two films. Those films being Evolution and My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
I have also heard the story for GB 3 may have changed somewhat. It seems now the story will see the team re-opening the station house after it has been closed for years. That does seem a tad different to the training rookie storyline Dan Aykroyd spoke of a few months back. Well regardless, I still have high hopes for the third film and remember, within the next week. Lol.
Spiderman 4 now has a start date as Sam Raimi confirmed this past week right before he dived backwards of a plane in one of his little “dare days” out. U know Sam and all. Lol
“We’re hoping that it’s the first week in March”
Once we got to the ground (yes I jumped too) Raimi then said this about the script Gary Ross was working on,
“He’s working on a draft… I just gave him some notes and he’s doing a rewrite right now.”
So everything is up and running which is good. Um…. Spiderman 3 wasn’t all that great, but I’d like to see a fourth one as long as we have a decent villain and it doesn’t all become about “Poor old MJ” UGH.
Let’s look at the posters for this week now.
Now let’s see these weeks’ trailers.
