If it's crap... We'll tell you

Source: io9.com

Somewhere in the world, Alan Moore just had a heart attack. Why, you ask? Because Deadline Games has just announced the release of a Watchmen video game entitled Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, where Rorschach and Night Owl clean up the streets...using their fists.

It is set for release in March 2009 and will be available on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

meh the graphics don't look half bad (i mean fuck is that rain?) and if they can get the story straight and maybe put some good side stuff in here or hell just make it a dam sandbox game this could be good.

As much as I love Watchmen, only a few pages in Watchmen would make for a fun video game

Probably suck. I'll play it anyway before the movie come out. The movie will kick so much ass. I'm pumped!

Dr. Detfink, don't you dare suggest Hollywood brings it smugness into our community.

No, god damn it! Even though I think Alan Moore is being a petulant child at the moment, I share with him the anger of having a video game adaptation where there shouldn't be one.

Tessa, the fact that Deadline Games is making it is even worse. While "Faith and a .45" looks promising, their most famous game was Total Overdose, a piece of crap, to put it lightly. If they had put the games in the hands of say, Starbreeze Studios or even Rockstar Toronto, then I would hold out for some hope, but this news is just saddening...

Seems to be $60 games are becoming a resource for Hollywood. Why wouldn't they tap into the comic book market for some quick sales? Video games ARE the new cult movies kiddies.
