just got back from the midnight showing. i enjoyed it very much. i understood what you all were talking about how snyder likes to add his won little things to his films, and while the ending was changed i still thought it was a good way of wrapping up the movie
Ok, I went through the review, and for a while I was like, omg you guys are waaaaay to a) hung up on blue dong, b) hung up on Snyder and c) comparing too closely to the comic
then I finished, settled and thought, them's your opinions and while I don't agree with you, at least you guys weren't smug about it, which so far there's been far too much smugness about this movie. from Elitist nerds to youtube freaks, but at least you guys didn't go in hating it, and seemed like you wanted it to be enjoyable and so the review doesn;t come off as an assholish "I told you so"
Leon, you did come close with the meet the spartans crack, lol that was uncalled for.
I can't wait for some fallout over this, while I don't let the opinions of others affect my enjoyment of movies, I do like watching the near car crash like effects these opinions have on others, and by others I mostly mean crazy people...
it's 3:15am and I just got back from the midnight screening of the Watchmen, and I'm about to listen to the spill review, but before I do that, I think the movie was very well done.
And I've read and have reread the comic, 1992 was the first time. I understand the story, and the characters, their purpose and the goals. The movie did a great job (for me) in bringing it to life. Now, I went with a couple co-workers who hadn't read the books, though it was too late to chat about it, I'll see how they liked it..one major reason is because I'm curious to see if the movie actually made sense.
Did it make sense to me because I was familiar with the boosk, and I filled in any possible missing pieces of information?
Overall it was good, and frankly it's hard to judge whether or not it will do well at boxoffice, but really, it doesn't matter. A movie should entertain, and for me this did. So much of the hype and shit that's been flying around like that weirdo on youtube, just makes it all so pathetic. It's a movie.
I am glad to hear from all the people who HAVE NOT seen this movie say that it sucks. The best thing about movies is not having to see them to know how bad they will be. So I thank all of the uninformed people out there saying it is a bad movie. As for myself I have yet to see it, but if it is bad then ok and if it is good then great. I will just wait to voice my opinion after I watch it.

First off, let me just say that I haven't read the book, so I'm not going to compare what happened in the film to what happened in the novel.
