Steven Lara posted a statusWe're just over a week away from the release of the first of Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit' trilogy: 'An Unexpected Journey.' This of course marks Jackson's second three-part foray into the world of Tolkien. This 13-minute TV special, aptly titled "Return to Middle-Earth," is one of the best featurettes I've yet seen for the new films. It's full of incredible behind-the-scenes footage and is a shoe-in to appear on the eventual Blu-ray. Take a look at the featurette below and let us know what you think.

Comment by Supafly on December 10, 2012 at 1:16am Saw the movie last night and I must say, I loved it. The frame rate took some time getting used to, but then, it was a wonderful ride. Didn't like the CG wargs and orcs so much but other than that it's a "must see" movie :)
Comment by Cranky Old Dude on December 9, 2012 at 9:21pm Really, Really happy to see this. I remember when I first read this, 40 years ago. It is how I imagined.

Comment by Undead on December 8, 2012 at 6:33am Damn! That was the fastest 13 minutes ever! I'm hungry for more!
Comment by Robert Wild on December 7, 2012 at 9:04pm COMPARED to Lord of the Rings, the reviews for The Hobbit have been pretty dissapointing, BUT, that doesn't meen Jackson messed up. Last time I checked Rotten Tomatoes, it had a 79 percent approval rating. Dissapointing, but still positive. It may end up being a dissapointment, but it definately won't be another Phantom Menace.
Comment by GreenEggsAndBam on December 7, 2012 at 8:17pm Reviews have been pretty mediocre so far. One I read went as far as to call it the next Phantom Menace.
I'm still going to see it of course, but now I'm incredibly skeptical. I won't be able to see it until the 2nd weekend it's out though unfortunately. We'll see how the word of mouth is.
