Neg Primer posted a statusDisney's latest short film 'Paper Man' has earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short. Though it is typically Pixar that manages to pretty much dominate animated films of any length, but Disney has stepped their game up considerably with 'Paper Man.' Now, you can watch the short online. Originally playing before 'Wreck-It Ralph,' John Kahrs' 'Paper Man' is a stunning combination of computer-generated and hand-drawn artwork. On top of that, it tells a beautiful and moving story. Take a look at the short below and let us know what you think.

Cool looking short. I gotta admit though, I saw a something completely different story coming out of this. It almost seemed like a super-villain origin story. Like at the end all those paper airplanes swarm the girl, slicing a million paper cuts into her body until she bleeds to death, and then at the end the guy gives a speech like Samuel L. Jackson at the end of Unbreakable: "And so, they called me...THE PAPERMAN."
Comment by K-Bomb on January 30, 2013 at 3:28pm That was pretty well done. Disney is not into screwing around. I can't imagine the pitch for that being successful at any other studio.
Comment by Dialtribe on January 30, 2013 at 3:25pm Wow, I really liked it. Got choked up a little. I would love to see a movie done in this style.
Comment by EagleVision on January 30, 2013 at 3:13pm I saw this last year before Wreck It Ralph and absolutely loved it!
Comment by tarantinolover12 on January 30, 2013 at 3:11pm Apparently this short film was a test run for this technique of combining 2D and 3D animation, so hopefully they'll be planning to make a feature-length film using this technique.

Completely agree. The animation and music are top-notch.
Comment by TAGibby4 on January 30, 2013 at 3:07pm The story itself isn't anything new, but the animation and music are wonderful. I'd love to see Disney make a feature film with a bunch of short stories like this one instead of one drawn out story.
Comment by Nick Herring on January 30, 2013 at 2:58pm Amazing.
Comment by The Projectionist on January 30, 2013 at 2:47pm I'd rank this up there with some of the best Disney shorts I've seen to date.
