Watch Oscar Nominated Disney Short 'Paper Man'

Disney's latest short film 'Paper Man' has earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short. Though it is typically Pixar that manages to pretty much dominate animated films of any length, but Disney has stepped their game up considerably with 'Paper Man.' Now, you can watch the short online. Originally playing before 'Wreck-It Ralph,' John Kahrs' 'Paper Man' is a stunning combination of computer-generated and hand-drawn artwork. On top of that, it tells a beautiful and moving story. Take a look at the short below and let us know what you think.

@Klatex: A touch too surreal? It's animation, half the point is to create something that is surreal.

Very simple story, connects emotionally, great music, great animation.  I agree with Dilster on the fanciful aspect of it but it still worked.  Thank you very much for posting this.  I popped this onto my facebook page for all my friends to enjoy.

So... when is Disney going to put out a full length film in this format?  More over, what stories left in the Brothers Grimm's playbook, or Stan Lee's, would lend itself to this treatment?

I do find the resolution to be a little confusing considering how 'possible' the rest of the movie was. But this is enchantingly romantic with engaging characters, a sweeping score and abnormally strong cinematography (I mean things like lighting and how the camera moves. Finally, this is definitive proof that CGI animation can have both the aesthetic and the tone of traditional animation.

4/5 STARS - A touch too surreal but beautiful, fresh and groundbreaking.

I didn't like the paper coming to life, a more destiny directed story would have made this perfect. But still, bloody cool.

I am going to say it....I think this was better than all of Wreck-It Ralph. What a stupendous, beautiful and whimsical little short!
