Warner Bros. Pulls 'Hangover, Part II' Trailer from Theaters

Source:THR

Oops! Warner Bros. has pulled the trailer for the Todd Phillips-directed sequel 'The Hangover, Part II' out of theaters nationwide due to controversy over it's subject matter and violations of MPAA guidelines. The hilarious trailer - which at one point shows Zach Galifianakis' character Alan placing a bottle under the sarong of an elderly passenger only to have a monkey nibble on it - was apparently never vetted by the MPAA. As a result, the very R-rated trailer has been shown in front of the PG-13 film 'Source Code' and has received complaints. However, upon review the MPAA has decided that the trailer is still too raunchy even to be shown in front of an R-rated film, so now Warner Bros. are scrambling to re-cut the trailer and re-release it into theaters this coming week. Here is the original trailer for reference:

The trailer is most definitely edited for red-band, but honestly we can't see why it would be considered so offensive when other current red-band trailers are far more raunchy and lewd (we're looking at you, 'Your Highness'). However, in the world of film, the MPAA has the final say so we'll soon be seeing a slightly tamer version of the trailer in theaters. 'The Hangover, Part II' comes out on May 26th.

"However, upon review the MPAA has decided that the trailer is still too raunchy even to be shown in front of an R-rated film,"

... The hell? This is the first time I've ever seen this thing... and these morons think it's to raunchy to be shown in front of R rated films!?

It's not his dick, it's a fucking plastic bottle! OOOHHH! But that's filthy! SOOO FILTHY!

Idiots.

If anything, I thought the movie would be... a meh kind of thing, I just thought it would be a  carbon copy of the original... but honestly, this looks like a hell of a lot of fun. This whole "OFFENSIVE-ness" thing will just get it more attention.

I think all of this hoopla will end up helping the movie cause all it's doing is creating controversy so now more people are going to want to watch the trailer and then hopefully in turn actually see the movie.

Geez, I'm not one for these kinds of movies, but the trailer wasn't THAT bad to be pulled from theaters. I think it would have been fine in front of an r-rated movie at least...

Seriously, the monkey bit was too much?

People look for the most trivial subject matters to complain about. You want to sensor your child from seeing a movie trailer but will let them watch Sparticus or Cops is okay.

The monkey/penis joke isn't bad; it's not his actual penis, guys. This is retarded.
