UnderWorld: Rise of the Lycans Review

Say what you will about this series, but i enjoyed it a lot as a matter of fact.
But every review has its ups and downs that cannot be hidden.
Lets start of with the unpleasant bits...

During the mass onslaught I would swear that some of the sprinting werewolves were stop motion. Okay so maybe it wasn't that bad but it could have been a whole lot smoother. Also, this particular entry in the series is heavy on the action so we have a lot of fast editing going on as well. And i know this is a useful technique in action sequences, but I would really prefer to see more of whats going on, during important events that are occuring at certain parts of the movie... Sometimes the camera was all over the place and i personally couldent see $h!t!

Now let's get to the fun part.
This film is a prequel and it really works as a stand alone as well. It is not completely necessary to see the first two in order to follow this one. And it does a nice swing around at the end to bring you up to speed... Atleast a lil bit.

In this movie you get the full details of the Lycan legacy and why they did what had to be done. You also learn exactly why Lucian is always in such a bad mood when it comes to Viktor and
the vampires. And let me say this. He has a damn good reason for that!!!

The performances were all notable. Of course we are missing the lovely Ms.Beckinsale here, but the lovely Rhona Mitra keeps us busy enough to keep our minds off that A$$.
Michael Sheen really expresses himself in this movie aspecially at the cliff scene with Rhona Mitra.
And Bill Nighy is amazing as always, for some reason i just love the guy in most of the films hes been in... Hes pretty good at playing almost any character and works his A$$ off in any movie. Also Bill can play such a bastard when it comes to it.

So to summarize this, if you enjoyed the first 2 then u should probably love this because its definately the best of the series. The story is kickA$$ and you should get some fun out of it.
It's action packed, adventurous and enjoyable in my opinion.
If u dident like the first 2 then this probably wont change ur mind.
