Two Stars Reunite With Their Star-Making Roles

Source: Deadline

Few people had ever heard of Orlando Bloom before he donned a blonde wig and pointed ears to portray the elf Legolas in Peter Jackson's 'Fellowship of the Ring'. The actor - who has since become a bankable star and Hollywood heartthrob in two more 'Lord of the Rings' films and the first 'Pirates of the Carribean' trilogy - owes a lot to that role so when production and casting began on Jackson's 'The Hobbit, Part 1' and it was revealed that he was bringing back characters from the previous films, it was assumed that Bloom would be joining as well. Well, assume no more: via his ever-updated Facebook page, director Peter Jackson has announced that Bloom will indeed join the film as Legolas in scenes shot specifically for the prequel (even though the character of Legolas does not appear in the original book). Bloom joins several of his LotR companions on the film, including the return of Ian McKellan as Gandalf and Elijah Wood as Frodo.

In an entirely different film spectrum, actress Shannon Elizabeth will be joining the cast of 'American Reunion' in the role that made her famous - the often-topless Nadia. Directed by Jon Hurwitz (of 'Harold and Kumar' fame), the film centers around Jim (Jason Biggs) and his ex-band-camp flutist wife Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) as they return to their hometown for their high school reunion. The film is sure to answer such important questions as "will Finch ever get to bang Stifler's mom again?" and "Chris Klein is still acting after 'Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li'?" Considering that Elizabeth first found her way into our hearts (and internet browsers) with her ability to do a poor pseudo-European accent and whip out her sweater puppies, I'm sure she'll have more of a chance to stretch her acting abilities in 'Reunion', the fourth film in the 'American Pie' saga (twenty-seventh if you count Direct-to-DVD films).

@Dominique Meyer-Does dancing with the stars count?  Apparently they let those people still show up in magazines.

Okay, I get Bloom, but.... in what universe is Shannon Elizabeth considered a "star"?
Comment by Justin on May 31, 2011 at 1:29am
Shannon was the best part of "Johnson Family Vacation" IMO. She played a Weird Odd Lady.

While Legolas isn't mentioned in the book..Bilbo and friends do encounter his dad King Thranduil, and given the fact that Legolas is immortal it may very well possible that Legolas could have been present as well.

Chris Klein was the only good thing about Chun Li and I have always liked him more than Jason Biggs.

I consider Klein's performance in the Legend of Chun Li one of the greatest comedic performamces I've ever watched. And I'm not sure whether it was intentional or not.

Orlando really likes those pointy ears don't he plus that cash smells great.

Wow news I don't give a fuck about Shannon Elizabeth was hot 10 years ago now she's stale; we have fresh ladies on the scene.

It's just not American Pie without my favorite exchange student.
