Still not entirely sure of what to think about Dreamwork's upcoming animated film 'Rise of the Guardians.' First of all, for those confused by the similar titles, no, it has nothing to do with owls. It is basically an 'Expendables' of childhood imaginary characters. Recently, these two new clips from the movie hit the web offering an introduction to two of its principal characters: The Sandman and The Tooth Fairy. I definitely prefer the first one, on Sandy, which showcases the movies grandiose visual style. The second, on kind of makes the Tooth Fairy seem like a shadowy government entity that keeps tabs on children throughout their lives. I don't know maybe I'm paranoid. It's not paranoid however to note that these clips whole recycle the music from 'How To Train Your Dragon.' Yes, those are both Dreamworks films, but shouldn't a film coming out in a few weeks have its own score finalized? Take a look at the clips below and let us know what you think.

'Rise of the Guardians' hits theaters November 21st

@Ash

OMG here we go again.  With the bullshit claim that dreamworks don't make good written movies.  Stop jumping on the blind Pixar bandwagon and actually look at a list of dreamworks movies.  Over 85% of them are great movies.  How many times does a dreamworls movie have to come out and people like you go "Wow I'm so surprised it's actually good" for you to realize you're talking out of your ass

My friend and I find it hilarious Jack Frost is designed like a 14 year old girl's wetdream.

That aside, this movie seems to have a lot of potential.  Biggest worry is that it will carter to children too much.  I've been looking forward to seeing this, so really hoping it turns out good.

The movie has a great concept, but the execution looks horrendous. Dreamworks needs to slow Down their factory and actually hire talented writers, because even though the concept is great. What we get in the end are really bad cliche, seen them a million times jokes. The film has no soul and no real villain. Dreamworks never takes anything serious; which is why Pixar consistently beats them in execution

You're missing the Santa, Jack Frost, and Easter Bunny videos that came out before these 2, and there's one extra video on how they animated the sand.

I find it funny how the bad guy looks like Neil Gaiman's Sandman and he's supposed be the polar opposite of this version's Sandman.

Really looking forward to this movie, want it to be good because if they deliver on what they promised, an emotionally investing story with Jack Frost and fun characters to watch, I think I'd really love it. But i can also see how it could potentially screw up, and with a premise and title like that it could be really corny or forced. So here's hoping, waiting for the Spill review.

Actually, it seems the score is playing throughout.

Love John Powell's score for HTTYD. Hell, just flat-out love the movie.

This movie looks fucking weird. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Also, like that it's using the How to Train Your Dragon score in the opening of this clip.

I don't see how it reminds you of Ronal the Barbarian., regardless why is that a bad thing?  Ronal was fuckin sweet.
