Dr. Rufus posted a statusStill not entirely sure of what to think about Dreamwork's upcoming animated film 'Rise of the Guardians.' First of all, for those confused by the similar titles, no, it has nothing to do with owls. It is basically an 'Expendables' of childhood imaginary characters. Recently, these two new clips from the movie hit the web offering an introduction to two of its principal characters: The Sandman and The Tooth Fairy. I definitely prefer the first one, on Sandy, which showcases the movies grandiose visual style. The second, on kind of makes the Tooth Fairy seem like a shadowy government entity that keeps tabs on children throughout their lives. I don't know maybe I'm paranoid. It's not paranoid however to note that these clips whole recycle the music from 'How To Train Your Dragon.' Yes, those are both Dreamworks films, but shouldn't a film coming out in a few weeks have its own score finalized? Take a look at the clips below and let us know what you think.
'Rise of the Guardians' hits theaters November 21st

OMG here we go again. With the bullshit claim that dreamworks don't make good written movies. Stop jumping on the blind Pixar bandwagon and actually look at a list of dreamworks movies. Over 85% of them are great movies. How many times does a dreamworls movie have to come out and people like you go "Wow I'm so surprised it's actually good" for you to realize you're talking out of your ass
Comment by pyranova on November 6, 2012 at 9:20am My friend and I find it hilarious Jack Frost is designed like a 14 year old girl's wetdream.
That aside, this movie seems to have a lot of potential. Biggest worry is that it will carter to children too much. I've been looking forward to seeing this, so really hoping it turns out good.

Comment by Jordan Hoffman on November 6, 2012 at 1:56am Actually, it seems the score is playing throughout.
Love John Powell's score for HTTYD. Hell, just flat-out love the movie.
Comment by Jordan Hoffman on November 6, 2012 at 1:53am This movie looks fucking weird. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
Also, like that it's using the How to Train Your Dragon score in the opening of this clip.
Comment by OneironauticalOne on November 5, 2012 at 8:52pm I don't see how it reminds you of Ronal the Barbarian., regardless why is that a bad thing? Ronal was fuckin sweet.
Comment by Tony*22 on November 5, 2012 at 6:24pm I was ready to bash this...but it does kinda look good. The animation looks amazing.
