Leo posted a statusToday we have two brand new posters from Sony Pictures 'The Amazing Spider-Man', directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as the titular wallcrawler. While the first trailer went a long way towards relieving some of the "anti-reboot" people (and you know who you are), I can't help but feel like the company is severely dropping the ball in the print department. Sure, both posters have Spider-Man on them but can't we get something a little more original? The first poster at least tried to take a new route, but these are nothing we haven't seen before. Really? A shot of Spidey with something reflected in his eyepieces? Spidey posing above a city street? If this reboot is going to be taken as seriously as the company is hoping, they're going to have to start showing us something new and unique.

We also have the international version of the first trailer, which has a few extra shots and features more scenes with Peter Parker's parental figures, Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field):

Comment by Marshall of the Universe on March 4, 2013 at 11:24am @ JH Never said Darkness = depth. The character can be fun but that dance was supposed to be peter's dark phase and that was the best Sam could write. That musical sequence work for Spiderman 2 but not this movie.
@That guy JV Thanks, I'm glad we agree.

You're right man, I wish Marvel would get the rights back to Spiderman so they can make their own movie
@Ajax I have to disagree. Whether the joke is "shitty" or not is a matter of opinion.
Peter is supposed to be the average nerdy guy. He is supposed to be the everyman. That is part of his appeal. That is why he is so relatable. He should not be hip Mr. Joe Cool. When you try to make him like that he loses all his relatability. You say "wet dishrag", I say relatable nerd which is what Peter should be. Peter should not be Mr. Perfect. When you take away Peter's neediness and his problems he is no longer Peter Parker. He can grow and change but his everyman relatability must stay.
Peter should not have a mossed up spikey stylish hair and trendy cloths during his high school days. Peter should also wear his glasses all the time before gaining his powers. He should not just wear them whenever he feels like it. Marc Webb clearly does not know the meaning of the word "nerd".
Comment by keh006 on April 17, 2012 at 4:53pm The only thing I'll give you is maybe the hair but the rest is no big deal since shots/poses like that are very common.
Comment by Robert Emery on April 17, 2012 at 4:45pm I hope your are right. But I will still hate the hair and the twilight elements even IF they are a small part of the movie.
Comment by Ferdinand Nilsen on April 17, 2012 at 2:08pm God damn it! I can't wait for it! FUCK!!
Comment by IAmDeadpool on April 17, 2012 at 12:20pm starkindustries.ru is a website that featured this poster. the film isn't actually affiliated with the larger marvel universe.
Comment by Monkeyiron on April 17, 2012 at 11:57am Do anyone notice the stark in dustries logo on the side of the first poster

I doubt they're gonna make the movie itself more like Twilight because then you'll piss off your core fan base. Its okay for the movie to have romance without going the route of Twilight. They're just marketing a certain way to show female audiences that they can enjoy this movie because of this certain aspect.
