Boardwalking Empire of the Dead posted a statusAh! Flee! Make peace with your gods! Okay... so it's not that serious. Basically, it's Friday and every studio wants to get their new stuff out there before the weekend, so four trailers dropped this afternoon: 'Dylan Dog', 'Kung Fu Panda 2', 'Puss in Boots', and 'Super'. Take a look, enjoy, and let us know what you think!
'Dylan Dog: Dead of Night' stars ex-Superman Brandon Routh as the title character Dylan Dog - a cross between a Paranormal Investigator and Private Detective for the undead. The film is an adaptation of the best selling Italian comic book, previously brought to film (sort of) with 1994's 'Cemetery Man' which, while not a direct adaptation, paid homage to the books). In this new comedy/horror film, Dog (Routh) introduces newly-dead Marcus (fellow Superman actor Sam Huntington) to the world of vampires, werewolves and zombies. The film will be in theaters April 29th.
DreamWorks animation released two new trailers today. In the spin-off film 'Puss in Boots', Antonio Banderas reprises his role from the 'Shrek' series as the cat with very specific taste in footwear. The film is based on the earlier adventures of Puss in Boots before the events with Shrek take place. The film will center on Puss as well as Kitty (Selma Hayek) and Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakas) as they attempt to steal the goose that lays golden eggs. In hopes of appealing to the holiday crowd the film will be released in 3D on November 4th.
Dreamworks also released the trailer for 'Kung Fu Panda 2'. The film follows Po (Jack Black), The Furious Five, and their master Shifu as they fight a new adversary whose unstoppable weapon threatens to put an end to the kung fu way of life. New allies are introduced and brought to life with voice performances by Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Victor Garber and Jean-Claude Van Damm. The film will be released in 3D on May 26th.
Last but not least, 'SUPER' is a dark and twisted indie comedy by director James Gunn ('Slither', 'PG Porn') soon to be released by IFC. The film follows demure loser Frank (Rainn Wilson) who grows a pair and decides to become a super hero after watching his ex-addict wife (Liv Tyler) get seduced by a local drug dealer (Kevin Bacon). During this adventure in creating his own superhero named Crimson Bolt, he meets a young girl who befriends him and becomes his side-kick, Boltie (Ellen Page). The film is being screened at this years SXSW Film Festival so it's possible that some or all of the Spill Crew may catch it during the festivities next weekend. 'SUPER' will be released on April 1st.

Comment by Japan's #1 Top Mixer on March 7, 2011 at 4:27pm Puss in Boots automatically gets a must-see, and Kung Fu Panda grew on me so much that I'm looking forward to the sequel. SUPER has a great cast (marry me, Ellen!) and I will have to watch and see how much it differentiates itself from KICK-ASS.
As for Dylan Dog, it's the ideal made-for-television movie that SyFy loves to produce. I was not impressed.
Comment by Jean Pierre Mercedes on March 7, 2011 at 12:30pm The Traliers I enjoyed the most this past weekend from watching Rango, was Kung Fu Pana 2, and Puss in Boots.
I can't wait to see those two when they come out in theathers later this year. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Comment by Eiji Hino on March 7, 2011 at 7:35am I really doubt Boltie knows anything about comics going by her comment towards the end of the trailer "I'm just learning, you have too teach me these things"
If she knew anything about comics she wouldn't have to say that. I'm not looking forward to this movie.
based on the trailer I give it a 2/10.
Now if the movie ends up being good. I'll change my mind. But I kinda felt like I just saw all the funny parts

Puss in Boots: Eh...
Kung Fu Panda: Like ther first one and this one looks like I will enjoy it just as much
Super: That one I'm looking forward to the most. Looks good
Comment by SomeBritishDude on March 6, 2011 at 6:47pm Dylan Dog looks...pretty bad. The black arm made me laugh though.
Puss in Boots didn't tell me enough for me to make a fair judgement
Kung Fu Panda 2 looks the same as the first; muh story, great action
Super sounds like just a Kick Ass rip off...and it is, but it still looks good anyway.
