Things I learned watching anime, Vol. 1
Greetings! I've seen quite a few anime shows over my long (well, compared to most of my fellow Spilldos anyway) life, and I'd like to think that I've learned a few lessons over the years.
Lesson the First: It is totally acceptable to bitch-slap friends, relatives, co-workers, classmates, or even people you barely know if they question your loyalty or the loyalty of someone they are close to, to discipline uppity boy pilots, or just to make a point.
As seen in: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Bleach, Naruto, Elfen Lied, Death Note, Eureka 7,Full Metal Alchemist, pretty much any anime featuring angsty teenagers (wait....isn't that basically all anime?).
I see this over and over again.
Need to make a point? BITCHSLAP!
Need to explain another character's motivations to an ungrateful kid (who is most likely a mecha pilot)? BITCHSLAP!
Need to remind someone of what a good friend you've been? BITCHSLAP!
I am forced to assume that in Japanese culture, bitchslapping people is a popular method of forcing them to memorize things.

EDIT: Anyone got a pic from the show Eureka 7 of Holland hitting Renton (or anyone hitting Renton really, he gets a bitchslap-based education from most characters...I guess he's not a great student)? I want to add that to this post but I can't find one :(

LOL. Especially since he winds up getting into all kinds of shit, and when he tells his mom she's cool with it, wtf?

Here's what I've learned from anime:
It's okay to distribute pornographic material featuring characters from children's shows as long as you say they're older in the porno. You don't have to redraw them, either, because in anime, everyone looks like a 6 year-old girl.

Well, all I have to say is look for some old school-anime. 60's to 90's. One of my favorite is Lupin the 3rd, you might like it. Try looking at old-school anime, it's a little bit better what going on now.
Oh, I don't won't to be a dick or anything, Even though Code Geas is a good anime with a basic story around it, but the art style........SUCKS!!! I mean, everyone looks the same. No really. We got a Cut & Paste on everyone face but with different hair styles. I know DBZ does it to (kind of), but at least you can tell the difference between a boy and a girl. I just hate those type of anime art style. I really do.
