Wolverine is one of the most badass characters in Marvel's canon, on that I'm sure many of us can agree. So there was a great deal of anticipation for 'X: Men Origins-Wolverine.' That eager anticipation was not rewarded. Luckily however, the big screen is prepping to once again play host to the adamantium-constructed hero. This time around, James Mangold is directing with Hugh Jackman once again reprising the role. Over the last few months, several bits of casting news, set photos, and even news footage of production have given us a sense of what we can expect to see in 'The Wolverine,' but now the film's official Facebook page has revealed this plot synopsis...
"Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed."
So they've revealed that it's going to take place in Japan? Gee, thanks, couldn't tell that from all the Japanese actors cast. Also, we've seen footage of a Japanese camp and it's already been mentioned that this film will draw heavily from that particular Wolverine story arc. I really hope that the aforementioned mysterious figure from Wolverine's past doesn't drudge up yet another long-winded exploration of the character's origins. We've had at least two movies about this already, and I think we're all kind of over it. I am excited that the villain will be The Silver Samurai. I imagine brutal, spark-inducing, sword-on-claw fight sequences and it makes me happy. My hope is that another plot synopsis will be revealed soon with a little more detail, but honestly the only thing new it could tell, that it most assuredly would not opt to do, is how the film will differ from the comic.
What do you guys think? Do we need more detail here? Or, in terms of the plot description for this in production superhero movie, would you prefer to only know what you already know?

Comment by Slicer3000 on August 18, 2012 at 2:46am I don't know. The last film was a piece of sh*t so big it might as well came from space. but We'll see what this new one will be like when it comes out. I might be wrong.
Comment by Negro on August 17, 2012 at 8:50pm @ J-Haze I agree. But Will Yun Lee? There wasn't a taller Japanese actor with the chops and athletic ability to play Silver Samurai? I look forward to seeing a trailer of this to better weigh-in on how I feel, but outside of First Class the last two Fox X-films have been pretty lackluster at best for me.
Comment by J-Haze on August 17, 2012 at 6:03am Japan is know as "the land of the rising sun" so i think that is why they used the word rising. dont think they are trying to copy other marking strategies intentionally with the use of the word
Comment by Darth_Siskel on August 17, 2012 at 2:49am Rising? ....Really? After
Cobra , The Dark Knight, The Lycans, The Machines, Hannibal, The Silver Surfer & the Apes!?!?
Comment by Right Click on August 17, 2012 at 1:10am No, this not news, not by a light year. Unless something meaningful happened to create a need for this article, its just tabloid journalism. Otherwise this is as newsworthy as next week's wolverine article, "Top 10 ways to get YOUR Wolverine to notice YOU!"
Comment by That Guy Jv on August 17, 2012 at 12:16am I'm sorry, the last Wolverine movie left such a bad taste in my mouth
Comment by GorTheMovieGod on August 16, 2012 at 11:18pm After playing Sleeping Dogs and hearing how good Will Yun Lee is in that game, I am very excited to see his version of The Silver Samurai
