If it's crap... We'll tell you

The Toy Story series is based on one of the earliest Pixar works in 1988. Which has gained much respect as a major milestone in the history of film. Pixar is a leading Disney-based company that has proved itself to be superior in animation, slowly becoming more and more significant over the years. And this short film, Tin Toy (1988), helped show what the company was capable of in the ways of story-line and art technique. From there, they were able to gain the support to make a longer movie.

Idea they came up with from this: TOY STORY

When the first came up with the plot and made John Lasseter (Tron) planned out a TV series for Tin Toy, but was forced to move his focus to making a feature-length film. He was using the experience he made with computer-produced moving animation to help design a lot of the facets of this upcoming classic. And when created and presented to the company, it was immediately turned away. After being forced to completely flipped the way the characters were designed and their personalities, they were than approved.
But, that was all for the best being that Woody was a ventriloquist dummy with an asshole attitude in the first draft (that being only one of the many flaws with that short).

Tin Toy (1988)

Top Disney Pixar films
1. Iron Giant
2. Toy Story
3. Up
4. The Incredibles
5. A Bug's Life

The time periods between these films stretch out over about 20 years time, starting with the drafts of Toy Story in 1990 all the way to the release of Up in 2009. They still have many more projects in the planning, filming, editing, writing, etc stages. Which shows how they have progressed and continue to do so over time. But, you can still look back at all the older stuff they had and see it with an eye of respect

Now, like other studios are working with as well, Pixar is exploring and beginning to incorporate IMAX and/or 3D into their movies. Done to enhance the viewing experience, and adding a much-needed hook into the film world. Because, as anything does, movie-making is a progression that must add upon itself over time. Bringing back older movies and showing them in this format is another notch in that timeline.

The idea of showing these two films again, Toy Story & Toy Story 2, was a smart move on this company's part. But, they have a problem with trying to find something to keep a young audience interested for a little less than 4 hours. So, they made it in 3D. The older crowd gets to look at a classic in a new way, and the young get to see a story come to life before their eyes for the first time.

Sitting in an audience of about 75% children under 6 and I didn't see one kid get restless and start moving around or crying the whole time. This was accomplished by having a short intermission in the middle with short comedic pieces about the film, and interactive games and facts for the kids to participate in.

Everyone was enjoying themselves, and I didn't see anyone walking out that looked disappointed.
I give a very high recommendation for people to take the time to sit through this film experience while it remains in movie theaters. With my biggest complaint being that it is only available for a short time.
10 out of 10
for it's beautiful new look and innovative hooks on such an important and historical animated series

Be excited for the next film coming out, making this a trilogy!

Oh.... I remember that Tin Story played before I film I went to see. Loved it, feared for the poor bloody guy.lol

I like that with the 3D accept of the film, the likes of Toy Story 3-D could really benifit from breaking that fourth wall with the movie goers.
