Co-Host here once again bringing you another exciting panel from NYCC!

This time I bring you Universal's prequel to The Thing entitled...THE THING! Best title EVER! It's so good that no one wants to funk it up and on this panel you'll hear from director Matthisjs van Heijningen how much he respects John Carpenter's vision and really doesn't want to funk it up and why they decided to just use The Thing instead of The Thing 2 Electric Boogaloo. You'll also hear from the cast and producers on what to expect from the film coming at you April 29, 2011. Actors Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje aka Mr. Echo himself from Lost, Eric Christian Olsen and Ulrich Thomsen all attended this panel.

From the trailer they made just for this comic-con, I'll say they have the atmosphere and the look down from the original. The sets look just like the Norwegian base from the original and I could tell from the trailer there may be some action in the ship buried in the ice. Loved the shot where you see a drill making it's way down to the thing in it's so called original form and loved the nod to the original score by Ennio Morricone at the end of the trailer. I know, I know, none of this makes a good movie especially when we all know how it'll end, but I must say, I'm really excited to see this. Sorry!

I'm actually interested in what happened when The Thing was originally discovered by the Norwegian expedition. Unfortunately, I doubt the people involved in this prequel will have the courage to kill all of them. That is a shame in my opinion because the strong hint we got in the original that everyone (including the ones who eventually died in the heli crash) was killed by The Thing's rampage was a great set-up to the 1982 plot.

*sigh* i'm tired of the whole, all the characters are this nationality arguement. the competency of the actors does not depend on which part of the world they're from! it doesn't make or break the movie at all. but if you're still so concerned that all the actors have US passports; then let me remind you, that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is English.

Episode 10 of Vrgamestore is Up!!

Shorter episode than usual but nonetheless here it is. Our opinions on Dead Rising 2, Assassin Creed Beta, Psp game called Gladiator Begins, our thoughts on Sonic 4 Episode 1, and Gears of War 3 being pushed back.

Enjoy People and as always leave us comments!!!

i am not excited AT ALL for this movie. the main characters are american, one of them a helicopter pilot, same title, and i'd put money down that it's going to be beat-for-beat just like the original.
they wanted to do another remake, but were too ashamed, so they said, "lets just say its a prequel."

Though true that this a long over due sequel just as The Old Bot said, but it has been far too long. Someone back me up if you can but The Thing was a awesome gorey movie; good acting and the mystery of it all, especially at the end, made you want to see more. I do not know if John Carpenter is still or not but without him the movie is probably going to suck. If they use more animatronics rather than CG it may still have that fill of the original. Hopefully, but there is a slim chance that I will go see it.

This movie is going to blow. All I'm going to say, all that needs to be said.

Long over due. Carpenter's The Thing is one of my all time favorites, but with all the remakes and prequels/sequels to classics for our generation, I am admittedly very wary of how badly this can go. I'm hopeful that this new crew can keep a lot of the elements that made it's predecessor great: the tension, the gory, goopy effects, the isolation and desperation..thanks a bunch Co-Host!

thanks a lot for this Co-Host! Very little info was trickling out about this prequel so this recording is a godsend!
