The Ricky Gervais Show is a total bore of a show
Today I download the first episode of the Ricky Gervais show from Zune and I watched it to see if they could pull off
a close to haft hour show of "some guys sitting around having a conversation and having it animated for humor" WOW WHAT AN ORIGINAL IDEAL! I have never seen anything like this before. Brilliant.
Now that I've gotten my cheap attempt of humor of of the way, let me say, this first show to me is a EPIC FAIL on so many levels. The show consist of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Karl Pilkington three guys that work together on most of the projects you've seen Gervais in. (The Office, Extras) and they've been doing audio podcast for a while now. Now they're going the extra step of animating these podcast so you can see the visualization of the "jokes they are telling."
The whole show is Gervais and Merchant talking to and making fun of Pilkington. Saying how he's like a monkey,
making fun his head. And then letting him go on about things I either couldn't make out what he was saying, or talking about topics that just bored me to a point that I was turned off real quick. Now everyone on this site is a fan of the ideal of animated conversation of a few guys who know each other and so they have a re pore and so the ideal works. One of the thing that make the animated reviews work on this site is the review are short and the jokes are to the point. It also helps that the conversations, both the audio podcast or the video review are of topics we are interested in hearing. They let Pilkington go on about things he thought was true, but I had no interest in hearing. The only thing I found close to thinking was funny was Pilkington talking about a space 
monkey and the rest of the guys started saying about the monkey going out to get high because it missed the high of going out into space. They seen to get the jokes, But I never got what they were saying.
Now maybe the next few shows will get better. we'll see, but this first show was a major fail. Dull and un interesting.I last thing, mt thought are not based on the fact the Spill does the same thing. I was hoping it work as a TV show. Why not, I like to be entertained,
but this just didn't do it.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I think this show is hilarious. It is just them ranting and they aren't always making fun of that one guy, and even if they do make fun of him too much I still found it funny. You can't expect a whole lot from just three guys talking. If you want an engaging comedy go else where, but if you just want some fun without a plot it is funny.

The animation is really cartoony. Like hana barbara. I guess give it a chance. Can't judge a book by its cover, or a show by its first episode.

I don't know what everyone else talking about but their podcast is hilarious, and this just being snippets from their podcasts with animation is just as funny.

Wow! The Ricky Gervais show isn't Funny. After seeing the Invention of Lying, I Thought this guy was Funny. NOT ! I have never found Ricky Gervais funny in any way, Even "The US" Office is Boring at Points.

I'm just gonna say this..Blackmagic is right. I like the show it was hilarious to me. I think some of you are letting your love for spill.com cloud you judgement. LDT is funny but why can't this be funny too?

This made me chuckle at some parts, but I gotta say the Ricky Gervais' voice is freakin' annoying.
