THE NO-BUDGET DIARY 06 : UNSEEN POWER OF THE WICKED CATHERINE FRENCH




This was the least polished short the original five “Help! I’m Being Eaten By a Broken Sticker” short film scripts. I rewrote most of it this summer during preproduction. The original story followed Catherine French and Bella as the searched for their friend Dem. This leads them to her parents and climaxes with Dem returning to get a gun from Catherine. So basically the only thing I kept was the beginning and end of the story.


PREPRODUCTION

We planned for a shoot 6 days following our last outing. Casting was easy as there was no recasting or extras. We knew we had the location in Dartmouth provided by Tanar Repchull who has made 2 films with us. And Jon Bacon provided the other main location.

Film equipment included our usual JVC HD-1 and CANON GL2 cameras and tripod.


PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Shooting went fast. We traveled over to Dartmouth for a 10:25am start time. We shot a scene with Denise and our lead. Things went well. Sarah H recorded a podcast with Tanar while I filmed the scene. Things went smooth, they knew their lines and it was basically the way the day went. It’s the first time everyone knew all their lines.

POST PRODCUCTION

Post is still ongoing. Sarah H will be scoring the film yet again. I really like her sound and would prefer to have it scored instead of filled with rock and rap.
