I haven't seen it yet myself but my friend seemed to like it. But he did advise I just rent it.

i thought the soundtrack was the only good thing in this movie but I thought it was kinda funny. Looks like that guy is making a raping hole

I enjoyed Meet the Feebles.. I think Peter Jackson's worst movie was Bad Taste, and even that one was pretty awesome. kinda hesitant on this one... and the books ending killed it for me.

Although i agree on basically EVERYTHING you guys said....i'd have to give it a Matinee. mainly because in the theater, the film looks INCREDIBLE (and not even the Purgatory sequences which werent that good)...the 70's feel of it, and cinemtography look great on the big screen.
I did like all the actors except Susan Sarandon...ive seen Wahlberg do better, but he still did a good job here (especially when he starts to assume things).

I thought Lovely Bones was alright. I'd probably give it a Matinee. On a somewhat related note, I think that Guillermo Del Toro will do a fantastic job with the Hobbit. Better than Peter Jackson, in fact, because he's the stronger director. To me, Middle Earth (or whatever it's called) is too broad a canvas for one guy to interpret time and time again. Jackson already did three movies; it's time for someone else to take a shot.
