The legend of Spyro 3D

It's been a long time since I last play a Spyro the dragon video game . I never got to play the PS3 titles because I did not own a PS3 until later on, and by then I lost interest . As far as I know I did not miss much as fans still miss the days when the franchise was own by Insomniac Games . So I was lucky to have just play the original PS trilogy .

However I was not aware of the movie , which I'm sure all gamers are fully aware by now and so is every movie maniac. And you have seen this poster countless times

Not heard much from people and it comes as no surprise as this is yet another video game movie . And we all know what happen with the last video game movie . But this is a kid's film and damn it's been a looong time since we had one of those . So it might not be the holy grail of video game movies that many of us are still waiting for ( and probably there will never be) . But as a kid's film it sounds like it has a chance of being something unique .
I mean what have the past videogame movies been about so far ??? nothing but mindless shooting and Uwe Boll action scenes . I think it's time to go for the more family friendly videogames .

The upcoming animated 3D Spyro film, intended to be the first of a franchise, currently due for release Christmas 2009.

It's based on the more current games and not the classic games that fans prefer . So if you are not familiar with the new games here's the plot the movie might follow.
A special dragon egg was hidden in a woodland full of dragonflies by Ignitus to save it from evil forces that were hunting it. Brought up alongside Sparx, Spyro is led to believe that he himself is a dragonfly who just happens to be slightly bigger and purpler than the other dragonflies.

Until one day when the village is attacked and Spyro is found. Instinctively using his unknown powers, Spyro realises just how different he is. Confused and upset, he learns that he is not in fact a dragonfly, but a dragon who carries the role of being part of a great prophecy that will bring peace to all the land.

Spyro, along with his trusty sidekick Sparx pursue this epic adventure and attempt the impossible; the demise of the deadly Dark Master. However, between them stands Cynder, a very powerful black dragon powered by the red crystal around her neck, which enslaves her to the Dark Master.
