I thought originally of a down period between Xmas and New Years Eve when this was recorded, but we apparently are just going to party on through. Much is discussed including the Xmas episode of Doctor Who, Amazing Spider-Man #700, and the induction of old and new members into the permanent cast. Check it...

Comment by Zeak Fury on January 5, 2013 at 7:20am Dr. Who Frame Story Spoilers:
Season 1 - Bad Wolf: The Doctor is about to die from a fleet of Darleks, Companion1 becomes a reality altering god that wipes out the entire Darlek fleet out, makes Jack immortal, and spreads the words "Bad Wolf" throughout all time and space.
Season 2 - Torchwood: The Doctor is about to die in the cybermen and darleks war, The Doctor creates a vacuum to the Void and sucks all the cybermen and most of the darleks back. In the meantime Companion1 gets trapped in a parallel universe never able to return to The Doctor. Torchwood is an anagram of "Doctor Who".
Season 3 - Mr. Saxon: The Doctor is about to die from old age by Master (another timelord), when the Companion2 convinces everyone on earth to concentrate on The Doctor who gets regenerated by their psychic energy. He kills Master (who is Mr. Saxon). Companion2 leaves.
Season 4 - Medusa Cascade: The Doctor is about to die by a reality bomb created by the creator of the Darleks, when Companion3 shows up and absorbs Timelord knowledge which allows her to deactivate the bomb. The Doctor then kills all the Darleks. Companion3 gets her memory erased.
Season 5 - Cracks: The Doctor dies by flying into the exploding TARDIS to create a clone of the universe. By doing he cannot be recreated in the clone universe. Companion4 in the clone universe then magically by thought (not making this up) recreates The Doctor and the TARDIS. The Cracks were formed when by the TARDIS exploding.
Season 6 - Death of The Doctor: The Doctor has to die in a certain place at a certain time otherwise time-space collapses. The Doctor then gets a robotic suit and mimics his death, magically circumventing this permanent fixed point in time of his death (no joke). Probably one of the best seasons with one of the worst endings.

Comment by Dr. Detfink on December 30, 2012 at 9:09pm Spiderbat has a point. Greg Rucka said the very same thing, stop collecting bad comics. Problem is, taste is subjective.
We always look at the past with rose colored glasses but fact is, there are some really BAD stretches of comic book writing in every title. Course that was back in the day when I wanted a PERFECT intact collection of my favorite characters.
I find it tough to patronize my younger, fellow comic book collectors who like titles I might pass on at age thirty-eight.
Interestingly, Slott did say there's going to be ONE last plot point (during Word Balloon interview) in Superior Spider-man #1. I quite agree, this is no different than the hell Brubaker took for killing Captain America, Hickman for killing the Torch...and Peter Parker WILL be his old self by the time the second act of the Amazing Spider-man hits theaters.
Comment by iggzy on December 30, 2012 at 3:44pm @Leon I appreciate the joking call-out about me "joining the LEOG" but I think I have to not throw up and actually get on mic once before we start talking about that :P
I kid of course, and you have added some great new members of the LEOG this episode ;)
Comment by spiderbat on December 30, 2012 at 3:03pm Spiderman 700 was fine; I want to see where Slot is going to take this before I pass judgement.
Comment by spiderbat on December 30, 2012 at 2:46pm I understand the LEOG crew is tired of Marvel always doing events. I also have event fatigue. However you can't put the blame on Marvel for constantly shooting out events. The blame should go to the fans that keep buying those books. In 2012 Avengers vs Xmen was the top book; only in July when Walking Dead #100 was release A vs X took the number two spot. If your Marvel why would you stop events when it's a proven revenue. Marvel would stop doing events if the revenue wasn't there.
Comment by Cman5000 on December 30, 2012 at 1:10pm I was so sad I wasn't able to watch the Christmas special this year. It was nice to hear you guys have a Doctor Who discussion tho!
