Arsène Lupin the Third posted a statusTHE LEAGUE OF EXTREMELY ORDINARY GENTLEMEN: Volume 8, Issue 7: Field Trip
While the League Lair is being disassembled and Cyrus hunts for a new base of operations to continue his plan for world domination, Brian steps up to volunteer The Red Keep as a temporary spot for our weekly madness. And look what happened: damn near everybody showed up! Our away-member Nakato appears, Spill fan Brennen gets some time on mic, and even Co-Host shows up. Discussions include the new Dark Knight Rises trailer, Moontower Comedy Fest, the upcoming Harris/Cat nuptials, the Khan/Benedict question, and full-on spoiler-allowed discussions (in the third act only, don't worry) on "The Avengers" and "Cabin in the Woods". Can't miss this one...

Indeed it looks like the additional post-credit scene has been added to the digital presentations as well. The article I read, which was a very early piece so obviously they didn't know the full story, said it was only being added to 35mm prints. It's such a weird, wonderful scene and I'm glad everyone got to see it. ASSEMBLE!
Comment by Jordan Cobb on May 6, 2012 at 1:58pm As a huge comic book fan I never thought I'd see a live action Avengers film but I did and it was so much better than I thought it would be. :) I am ecstatic!
This movie is so much better than it was thought about in my head. The cast is perfect but the stand outs are Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo. They are the absolute best actors in the movie. Joss Whedon was the only one to properly do this movie the way it had to be done. So many great character moments. Action sequences that are amazing that only Spectacular Spider-Man and Dark Knight Rises will be as good in those so you can just all avoid Battleship for the good of the world, the direction is perfect, writing outstanding, this movie is just great. This so Marvel Comics' best film. Also glad to see two Whedon regulars in this film.

Comment by DesertPunk on May 6, 2012 at 5:35am About The cabin in the woods, why couldn't it have just been advertised as a horror comedy??? I went in expecting a straight horror film & was totally disappointed..
I think I may like it after a second viewing because now I know its a comedy, but I left that theater angry not knowing wtf I just saw.
Also, the whole thing with the giant ancients and the blood filling the tablets.. cmon, that was just dumb. I felt like all that was just the result of the writers writing themselves in to a corner.
Comment by Mark R. on May 6, 2012 at 5:02am Has Brennan (Brennen?) done any actual tattoos yet? Got any pictures of original designs? Also I hate waiting when LEOG talks about movies that just came out, it's like a beautiful present you have to wait til christmas morning to open. Though I think the present in this case would be booze and pictures of Chris Hemsworth...
Comment by Nappystr8 on May 6, 2012 at 3:29am My problem with Whedon is that I generally only like his works on an academic level. His characters have very witty dialogue and the concepts he uses are often novel, but the emotion I generally feel in a movie is completely absent. There's just something about his style of writing that feels too deliberate to be genuinely compelling. In theory I love Cabin in the Woods and The Avengers, but when I sit down and watch them I'm just left a little more chilly than expected.
As far as Batman goes, I think Bruce meets a 13 year old Dick Grayson in a costume shop style Robin outfit and shuts him down, Batman goes missing for the rumored eight years (whether back broken or jail or both), during that time Dick (now played by Joseph Gordon Levitt) has become an adult, and in Batman's absence has become a replacement vigilante, aka Nightwing, who is a competent crime fighter who uses a fake cop identity to infiltrate a corrupt Gotham PD in order to gain information. At the end, Batman realizes his initial misgivings to work with others has been wrong. He teams up with Dick Grayson and Catwoman to stop Bane and the League of Assassins. At the end of the movie, Batman takes this new-found team dynamic to its natural conclusion by making Dick Grayson a second Batman, and starts the Batmen Incorporated, created new Batmen all across the globe. It's a lot of speculation, but no more so than what LEOG Joe was suggesting. In the end we're probably all wrong, but that is why speculation is so fun!
Comment by Felipe Zane on May 6, 2012 at 3:22am I agree with the idea that the meta premise of The Cabin in the Woods is a double edged sword. When I first saw a trailer for it I completely brushed it off thinking it was just another generic horror film. I thought it was going to be scary and mentally prepared myself for such. I didn't listen to the review you guys did and went to see it for myself. I had extremely high hopes after hearing all the great things people had said about it. Yet I still thought that it was going to be a horror movie due to the marketing. Combine that with all the good word of mouth it received, and you get one confused movie goer. Honestly, I laughed because I went in thinking that it was going to be a good horror movie and all the movie did was be that (purposely) generic horror film with all the tropes you expect. By the time I got to the "big reveal" I was just not all about it after having endured an hour of a mediocre horror film. I bet this is one of those movies that is better upon a second viewing.
