THE LEAGUE OF EXTREMELY ORDINARY GENTLEMEN: Volume 8, Issue 27: Gasp! Comics?

Fantastic Fest throws a wrench in the works so the scattered members of the LEOG join forces across town to talk about... wait, this can't be right... why yes it is, we're talking about COMICS!!! Special guests (and eerily similar twin-like beings) Jason "Fish" Fisher and Matt Frank join us, so why don't you just go ahead and press that play button already...

Update! We managed to piece together the lost segment with Leon and Cyrus, so we've updated the player with the new, even longer episode! Enjoy! -FM

I feel like Max Landis' Death of Superman video is solely meant to be laughed at. If you went there expecting an in depth analysis of that story, you were in the wrong place.

79:20 - I love, love, LOVE Breaking Bad, but I can't watch episodes once a week.  I have to watch whole seasons within like 2 days.

39:50 - Wow, I actually chewed the Bazooka Joe gum... and the gum that came with trading cards.  Besides the fact they lost their flavour after like 3 minutes, I had no problem with them.

On a similar note, I've heard people had problems eating Cap'n Crunch.  Never had a problem with that either.  O_o

I had two comments on things that Harris said in this episode.  He mentioned Christy Marks early on, and all I can think about was........ well just google her.

He also says that Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill was really good.  I have to disagree here.  The concept is cool, I like the character, but there were some major pacing flaws that really hurt the book.  It's a ghost revenge story where you are introduced to the ghost in the first 30 pages, find out it's motivations in the first 100, and know everything the ghost is capable of in the first half.  The second half of the book therefore drags as we just go through the motions.  In my opinion a good ghost story needs a slower reveal, and needs to build up to the conclusion.  Now his second book Horns had much better as far as pacing goes.  I think Daniel Radcliffe would be good for the role as well.

I hope things are going well for you and your family in these times, Cyrus. I know you're agnostic, but I'm hoping and praying for your family nonetheless. And I'm very proud to listen and follow a guy who is a devoted family man. Much love man
